The Spirit of Giving in Ramadan 2025: How Your Donations Bring Blessings
As Ramadan 2025 approaches, we welcome this sacred month with open hearts and gratitude. There is a special feeling in the air as Muslims around the world prepare to fast, reflect, and strengthen their bond with Allah. This is not just a month of abstaining from food and drink; it is a time of spiritual renewal, a time when the doors of mercy are wide open, and every good deed is multiplied. It is a month that carries unparalleled significance, one that connects us all under the umbrella of faith, compassion, and unity. The whispers of the Qur’an fill our homes 📖, and the tranquility of prayer calms our hearts.
At Our Islamic Charity, we are humbled to stand alongside you during this blessed time. Together, we fast, pray, and most importantly, serve those who are less fortunate. With your generous support, we prepare suhoor and iftar meals for the needy in Africa, the Middle East, and other regions where our brothers and sisters face hardship. There is immense joy in knowing that your donation helps break someone’s fast 🌙, fulfilling the beautiful teachings of Islam. The act of giving becomes an extension of our own worship, weaving love and care into every dish we prepare, and every prayer we make.
This year, we intend to cook a little more than 1000 iftars a day. If we receive more donations thanks to you donors or if we find a financial sponsor for iftar for Ramadan 2025, we will definitely do more for suhoor and iftar. However, our goal for food aid for Ramadan 2025 will be about 40,000 iftar bags. With your support, this goal is achievable, and together we can ensure that no fasting person is left hungry at sunset.
Why Ramadan is the Best Time to Give
Ramadan is a time when Allah’s mercy and blessings overflow. It is during this month that the Qur’an was revealed 📜, and fasting became a means for us to grow closer to Allah. The rewards of charity are magnified, and acts of kindness carry even greater weight.
The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, “Whoever feeds a fasting person will have a reward like his, without detracting from the reward of the fasting person in the slightest.”
This hadith reminds us of the immense benefit of providing iftar to those in need. Imagine the collective reward we earn by feeding hundreds of fasting individuals each evening. Your generosity creates a ripple effect, spreading blessings across communities and bringing hope where it is most needed. Every meal given is a dua answered, every sip of water a blessing multiplied. Ramadan is not just about personal growth – it is about uplifting the entire ummah. When we give, we give not just from our wealth, but from the love and gratitude in our hearts ❤️.
Five Ways to Donate and Earn Rewards in Ramadan
Feeding the Fasting (Suhoor and Iftar Preparation): Your donation can directly sponsor suhoor and iftar meals for families in Africa and the Middle East. These meals are cooked with love and care, ensuring that fasting Muslims can break their fast with dignity. By participating in this initiative, you are embodying the essence of community and solidarity.
Zakat for the Needy: Ramadan is the preferred time to fulfill your zakat obligations. By giving your zakat through Our Islamic Charity, you ensure that your wealth benefits the most vulnerable and contributes to lasting change. Zakat cleanses our wealth and uplifts those in dire need, strengthening the bond between us as an ummah.
Ransom (Fidya): For those unable to fast due to age or illness, paying fidya helps feed a poor person for each missed day of fasting. This simple yet impactful act allows those in need to partake in the blessings of Ramadan. Through fidya, the spirit of fasting extends even to those unable to observe it physically.
Expiation (Kaffarah): If fasting is intentionally broken, kaffarah serves as a means of atonement. Your expiation can feed the poor and fulfill this important Islamic obligation, bringing spiritual cleansing and forgiveness. Kaffarah reflects the mercy of Islam, allowing believers to seek redemption and return to the path of righteousness.
Zakat al-Fitr: As Ramadan draws to a close, every Muslim is required to pay zakat al-fitr. This small yet powerful donation ensures that even the poorest among us can celebrate Eid with joy 🎉. It purifies the fast and spreads happiness to those who need it most. Zakat al-fitr is a celebration of community, unity, and shared joy as we conclude this blessed month.
