Rebuilding Schools: A Future of Hope and Light Through Education
We are privileged to share the successful reconstruction of two schools devastated by conflict and natural disasters, located in Afghanistan and Pakistan. These revitalized institutions will provide secure and supportive learning environments for 73 children, enabling their return to education for the 2023 academic year.
The impact of these rebuilt schools extends far beyond bricks and mortar. They represent a renewed sense of hope and opportunity for children who have faced immense challenges. We want to share the heartfelt expressions of gratitude and joy from the students themselves, whose lives have been positively transformed by this initiative.
We would like to share some quotes and stories from the school children who expressed their gratitude and joy for our Islamic charity institution’s efforts. Here are some of their words:
“I am so happy to see my school again and I thought I would never go back to school. But now, I can study and learn with my friends and teachers. I want to become a doctor and help my people.” – Fatima, 10 years old, Afghanistan
“I love my new school. It is big and beautiful and has many classrooms, books. My old school was damaged by a flood and we had to study under a tent. It was very hot. I want to become an engineer and build bridges and roads.” – Ali, 12 years old, Pakistan
“I am so grateful to our islamic charity for rebuilding our school. It is a miracle that they came to our village and helped us. Our school was burned by the enemies and we lost everything. We were scared and hopeless. But now, thanks to our islamic charity, we have hope and courage. I want to become a teacher and educate the next generation.” – Aisha, 14 years old, Afghanistan
The reconstruction of these schools also addresses crucial aspects often overlooked in humanitarian aid, such as trauma-informed education and community involvement in the rebuilding process. Trauma-informed education equips teachers with the skills to recognize and respond to the emotional needs of students who have experienced trauma, creating a more supportive and understanding classroom environment. Community involvement ensures that the rebuilt schools reflect the cultural values and needs of the local population, fostering a sense of ownership and pride.
These stories exemplify the profound impact that our Islamic charity has on the lives of children and their families through education. Your generous support and donations have made this transformative work possible. May Allah (SWT) reward your kindness and generosity. Ameen. We are also committed to long-term sustainability, providing teacher training programs, resources for ongoing maintenance, and community engagement initiatives to ensure the schools continue to thrive for years to come. We thank you for your generous support and donations that made this possible. May Allah (SWT) reward you for your kindness and generosity. Ameen.
